SELF DEPENDENCY AND COOPERATION AS THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DESTINIES AND FUTURE FOR AFRICAN YOUTHS.
SELF DEPENDENCY AND COOPERATION AS THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DESTINIES AND FUTURE FOR AFRICAN YOUTHS.
Have you ever wondered how far you can go if you walk with others? As they say" you can go faster if you walk alone but you can go further if you walk with others. This is what today's youth need so as to be self dependent especially the African youth. To cooperate and be able to satisfy their own needs.
Here when we talk of cooperation we mean the art of working together, be it two or more people so as to achieve a common goal, and this of course, can help the African youth be self dependent or rather, be able to satisfy their own needs as the new African generation, without depending on aid. It might take long for everyone to understand it or get used to it but, slowly by slowly it can work. When people put together their ideas and build them, in the long run they achieve bigger things which is beneficial to everyone. Well it's true that people can also come together for no good reason only aiming at doing wrong things or, getting involved into notorious acts which happens alot among the youth whereby, the only thing they think of is drugs and clubbing for the rest of their youthful life and when their mates ask them to find something creative or fruitful to do with their lives while they're still young, they ignore it and say that it's for the old people. It's so sad how young Africans of today mislead each other in the name of cooperation, wanting to be rich overnight while they would be trying to put their thoughts together and make use of their education and experiences to make our Africa a better continent that is self reliant.
The funny thing is that, some don't see the good thing about coming together and sharing ideas. Everyone thinks he is better than the other and, can't be corrected or have someone else to prove him wrong. This hinders development cause everyone keeps their ideas to themselves and those ideas sometimes take long to be productive cause they never allowed other people to help them or challenge them. It's like they are afraid to be told that "your idea isn't good enough", which is not good at all. Sometimes we aren't right about what we think, even if our minds tells us a different thing. Moreover, no one is perfect which is why we all need each other to make things better and discover more about ourselves, our country and our continent as a whole cause,I don't think there's anyone among us who wants things to stay as they are, as if we the African are made to depend on others. No, that's not how it should be. We all have our differences and how we understand things, these differences shouldn't stop us from joining forces rather, we should embrace them(our differences) and learn from each other thereby, discovering more together as young generation and find a way to get rid of being dependants.
Most of the African countries are still being used by the western states in the form of neocoloniasm which is the practice of using economics, globalisation, cultural imperialism, and conditional aid to influence a developing country instead of the previous colonial methods of direct military control (imperialism) or indirect political control (hegemony). Well some will say they have no other option than to be used cause they don't have enough resources or most of the youth is unemployed which means their economy is still low so, they still need to depend on those developed countries to survive. I can't deny that people need each other but, you will never get any better if all you can do is sitting and doing nothing thinking that someone else will figure out what to do to detach yourselves from dependency.
It all start in our minds. Though, some young africans fail to archive their dreams cause they don't have enough courage to express their thoughts or they don't think they can take the first step to put in action what they think, even if they are 100% sure that they are right and they can change things for the better. All those thoughts stops some from getting far and achieving their dreams of being legends or scientist or researchers and all those big things that can change the image of Africa for the better. Some on the other side, fail to make their dreams come true cause they are less informed or less equipped depending on what they want to do provided that, they came together for a purpose but can't go further due to lack of information and all that, which is also a much bigger cause of unemployment. But, still people have to try in each and every corner with the help of our elders a lot can be discovered and be of help in one way or another. It's never good to be dependent to someone for the rest of your life but, people can help each other still cause, as they say "two heads are better than one" and with that saying it should encourage us to cooperate so as to achieve our dreams as young africans.
Another thing is that we, at times fail to reach our dreams cause we are lazy intellectually and we easily get deceived that, we can't do big things on our own. Like they make you believe that as an African you will never be enough to yourself or you can't get any better which is wrong. We can be better only if we work together as one. The only thing that is difficult is to begin once you've begun, the rest falls into place. And If you have information about something, a job opportunity, a new place and many other things, share that with your fellow youth. Don't keep things all to yourself cause, that's not how cooperation works.
Together as the young generation we can help each achieve our dreams and change our continent for the better but again, don't think our parents can't help or advice us, we need our elders the most, though we should be more wise and do analysis of our own, cause they will tell you something either helpful or negative. But all in all we need them to guide us and challenge us. Remember, the future is ours and we don't have to keep thinking of how to make it better rather start today by taking actions and putting together all our thoughts and challenge each other not to win a fight but to learn from each other. Good actions are nourishment for youths, much more than words.
We the African youth, should take the first step and make our thoughts a reality by reviewing our goals and working towards them and, of course seek guidance when and where you need to, that's how it works. Our people say "It is by the strength of their number that the ants in the field are able to carry their prey to the nest and that, "It's better to eat a mushroom in freedom than to eat meat in slavery". So let's all put together and make our Africa a better place.
